Fertility Hormone Balance Women's Health

Boosting Sleep for Healing

We all know deep sleep is like gold for our brains and bodies. It’s when your body releases growth hormone, clears out brain toxins and repairs tissues, muscles and bones. Plus, it helps balance hormones, rev up metabolism and boos brainpower.

But, if you are not hitting that magical 20-30% or 1 1/2 to 2 hours of deep sleep yet, all is not lost. It takes time and consistency and a little self-love. Remember, progress over perfection!

Here are some key tips to boost your deep sleep and maximize your healing:

  • Skip the caffeine, alcohol and cannabis at least 8-12 hours before bed. Your future sleepy self will thank you!
  • No hard workouts within 6 hours of bedtime.
  • Try to get cozy by 10 p.m. Your body loves this timing!
  • Frontload your water during the day and stop drinking liquids 2 hours before bed – the 3 a.m. bathroom trips are not fun!
  • Eat fiber-rich meals – leafy greens – they are a gut’s best friend!
  • Create a relaxing wind-down routine – like prepping your body for a sleep spa!
  • Experiment with binaural beats. Your brain just might groove its way into deeper sleep.
  • Keep your room dark and cool 60-69 degrees and noise free-basically make it a sleep cave!
  • Try mouth taping – breathing through your nose can help with quality sleep.
  • Learn something new like a language or instrument. It challenges your brain which loves to rest up after a mental workout!

Wishing you sweet and deep dreams!
