Birth Doula Client Process

How will we get to where you will feel supported and satisfied with your birth wishes?

Each family has their own needs and desires. We will develop a plan that honors your wishes and goals for a satisfied birth experience.

Birth Plan: What are you desiring for your birth experience. Maybe you have a rock solid plan or maybe you don't have any idea what your plan is. We will gather information and work through your desires, don't wants and needs for your birth experience. From this we will develop a plan that empowers you and honors your wishes.

Prenatal #1: We will review birth plan options and tweek where needed. Also, we will review any birth process concerns you have so you will be fully informed of the birth process. The goal is to be informed, feel validated and feel empowered by the knowledge you are gaining.

Prenatal #2: We will continue to review the birth process and insure your choices are validated and heard. We will also review any fears or concerns you or your partner have and work to alleviate those concerns. We have many options available for processing these concerns.

Prenatals #3 - #5: We will be spending time reviewing educational materials that will support you during labor through postpartum. Any concerns or questions you have will be addressed,

Postpartum: We will schedule 3 postpartum visits where we can debrief about your labor and delivery and any questions or concerns you have will be addressed. Breastfeeding support is available during this time also.

Supported Birth: As we continue to meet, we will continue to insure your desires are respected and work toward all of your goals. We will make sure that everyone on your birth team is on the same page.

Empowered Birth: Again goals and concerns and education needs will be addressed. We will address your birth experience during the postpartum visit.

What Does Support Mean

and Include?

My goal is that you feel like you had the best support, the most amount of knowledge you needed, felt empowered in your choices and decisions, and knew that you were being cared and respected every moment during your birthing experience.

We will go through all the options and possibilities that you can choose for your birth plan. What do you like? What don't you like? Do you like massage, or not like massage? There are many possibilities for your birth plan and we will discover what is right for you.

We will meet as often as we need so you feel comfortable with your knowledge of the birthing process and feel like you are supported in your choices and desires.

You will not have to worry about 12-hour language or time frames for your labor and delivery. You can feel confident that your birthing will not be interrupted by a change in your doula support team.

I will be available to you when you feel the time is right. That may be in early labor or it may be when you arrive at the hospital or feel you would like support at home during a home birth. The choice is yours - you get to decide.
